About the 3-Day Virtual classroom course:
Virtual Classroom courses require delegates to read, and confirm (sign) some important information prior to course commencement. Email access is imperative throughout the entire course.
- Delegates must have access to a modern Laptop/PC or Tablet with suitable camera, microphone and relevant Teams/Zoom software installed.
- They must also have good access to the internet and emails.
- Delegates must also agree to follow strict guidelines for the online End-Test assessment, which includes keeping the camera on at all times, and not searching the internet or IOSH digital workbook during the test.
- The instructor will be monitoring delegates throughout the End-Test.
The digital IOSH Workbook will be emailed to the delegate. Some of the other associated course paperwork may be emailed, but may also be accessed via our online Gigsavvy Platform.
Special arrangements can be made for workbooks and some relevant course paperwork to be provided in physical format. However, this will include an extra cost and must be arranged and paid for at least 2 weeks prior to the start date of the course. Please use the Contact form to enquire about physical versions of the IOSH Workbook and course paperwork.

All delegates will need email access throughout the course, as they are provided with a digital workbook with information on all Modules including Key Learning Points. There are also case studies and course information to guide them through the course before the end test. Mock assessment and End-Tests and Evaluation forms are all accessed via the Gigsavvy Platform or in some cases can be emailed to the delegates.
There are 2 short – ‘mock tests’ given during the course (after modules 5 and 7). These mock tests are in place to help confirm knowledge, to give delegates some test practice with an idea of the types of questions which may be asked in the end test. There is no pass or fail on the mock tests, these are for practice only. It is helpful if the mock tests are carried out in conditions akin to the end test (no communicating between delegates, no access to internet or workbooks). The instructor can give feedback at the end of the mock tests to show where delegates may have gone wrong, if necessary.
END TEST:
- The end test is ‘closed book’ and invigilated. There are 30 questions, with a possible 60 marks – and a pass-mark of 36 or more. There is no feedback to delegates where marks have been dropped at the end of the test. However, if a delegate fails, they may be given some 1-1 feedback, and may be given the opportunity for a retest with a different test paper.
RISK ASSESSMENT PROJECT:
- In addition to the end test, delegates are required to complete a Risk Assessment Project. based on their workplace. The Risk Assessment Project paperwork will be introduced and explained during the course.
- If Delegates are not currently working, scenarios can be provided so that they can complete the Risk Assessment Project.
- There is a period of 2 weeks after the end test to complete the Risk Assessment Project.
- Possible marks for the Risk Assessment Project are 38, with a pass-mark of 23 or more.
END OF COURSE FEEDBACK / EVALUATION
- All delegates are asked to complete an official IOSH feedback / evaluation form. This is important so that IOSH can monitor performance of Approved Training Providers as well as their own course materials.
- Additionally, there will be an opportunity to complete Gigsavvy feedback / evaluation. This is extremely helpful for Gigsavvy to monitor company performance and to ensure customer satisfaction.
CERTIFICATION:
- Delegates must attend all seven modules, and successfully complete both the end test and the Risk Assessment Project to gain the official accredited IOSH Managing Safely Certificate.
- Please note that Gigsavvy Ltd endeavour to be ‘paper-free’ and therefore the certificate is provided in digital format. However, physical certificates can be ordered and posted out, but there will be an extra cost for this.
- Whilst there is no expiry date on certificates, it is recommended by IOSH that refresher training is completed every three years.
